Natural Hairstyle Maintenance

Well, here I am with another hair product line review. I received Dove's Amplified Textures scalp tonic and styling gel to try from Influenster. As you know, I have locs and I like to postpone retwisting as long as I can. Sometimes, full shampooing and conditioning isn't in the cards for me so things like dry shampoo/hot oil cleaners/etc. are a big help to me. I like this scalp tonic as it has quite a bit of cleansing effect and is so refreshing when applied. The only downside for me is the size/amount in the bottle. I like that it doesn't have to be rinsed out and can be applied to damp or dry hair.

The styling gel has a very unique consistency/texture to it. It is jelly-like, however, it has a kind of slippery or runny feel once you take it from the jar. I used it to retwist the new growth at the front of my hair, but the hold was not enough to last more than 5-6 days. I feel like the gel would be great for a wash-n-go as it is light and has some slip. It would probably do well for a twistout, too. Although I wasn't sent the other items to try, I would be interested into looking into them and how I could benefit from them.
